OFFICIAL TOKOTAS IMPORT TEMPLATE

Individual Mane Types Download (Dire Build) - (READ RULES AND TERMS OF USE FIRST):  drive.google.com/drive/folders…

DIRE BUILT Tokota template: Tokotas - DIRE Import Template GOOGLE DRIVE

:icontokotas:
Bullet; Red NOTE: TOKOTAS ARE A CLOSED BREED. THIS TEMPLATE MAY ONLY BE USED BY MEMBERS OF THE GROUP TO DESIGN THEIR OWN PUPS, EVENT GENOTYPES, AND SEMI-CUSTOMS.
Inside the file attached, you will find the official import template for all Tokotas uploaded by TotemSpirit.
This is NOT FOR FREE USE. All lines, backgrounds, and the template in general is ONLY INTENDED TO BE USED FOR OFFICIAL CHARACTERS OF THE TOKOTA SPECIES.
You MAY NOT use this for your personal OCs or for anything unrelated to the Tokotas species.
You MAY NOT use this to create un-official Tokotas from scratch (you may play with hypothetical design ideas, but do not upload them to your gallery or try to submit them to Design Central!)
You MAY NOT upload imports or anything made with this template onto any website other than DeviantArt without permission from noebelle.
DO NOT remove the credit text.

You may, however, use it as a base for creating tack designs, item designs, and dual-side references (for your OFFICIAL tokota import) AS LONG AS CREDIT IS GIVEN.

Color Genetics
Tokota have their own unique system of genetics, along with birth rights (in-born heirarchy status) and several types of unique fur styles. There are four primary base coats. Tundra (common), Tawny (Uncommon) Brown (rare) and Black (extremely rare). As tones and hues get darker, they become more rare and less commonly seen.
Tundra
(TT/Tt) ranges from very light, creamy off-white, to light flaxen color depending on parentage.
Tawny
(Aa/Tt - AA/Tt - Aa/TT) can range from burnt cream, to a milk chocolate tan depending on parentage.
Brown
(AA/Aa) ranges from tanned brown to very dark mahogany, and can be saturated to a point depending on parentage.
Black
(EE/Ee) remains within a few certain tones, and is not saturated. Black is an extremely rare occurrence, due to visibility against the tokota's native tundra

1.

Step one: Download the file.
The file is in PSD (photoshop) format. Don't worry SAI users -- for those who don't know, SAI can run PSD files just fine. Inside are multiple folder groups - each containing the respective template for a different mane type, along with it's hierarchy forms (dominant, average, submissive.)
Make sure you use the correct hierarchy lineart, as well as the correct background.

2.

Step two: Creating your design.
There are many resources available to you to help you find a design you like, including those above.
If you're still having trouble after reading the guides, try looking at relatives or other examples of your tokota's genotype in the TotemSpirit gallery.

Design what looks best to you and meets your fancy (within limitation of the design rules.) Try to make it clean looking to the best of your ability. If you absolutely cannot design it yourself, feel free to ask another member, advertise in the gallery, or send a request to the The Design Den- CLOSED.

*Remember! Once you own a genotype, it is your responsibility to design it (though there is no deadline, genotypes will never 'expire!') Admins are not obligated to design your Tokotas.

3.

Step three: Having your design uploaded by admins.
NEVER
upload the import design to your gallery! In order to be considered official, all imports must be uploaded on TotemSpirit.
Upload your design in .PNG format to your sta.sh, and remember to keep a copy of your un-merged PSD file for future hierarchy changes, item applications, and anything else that may require it to be edited.

Do not note the group.
Do not note TotemSpirit.

Instead, comment in the correct month's "Design Central" thread (ALWAYS can be found on the front of TotemSpirit's profile) in the comment string titled, "Design Approval."

If an admin asks for corrections on your design, reply to the "Corrections" comment string of the admin who commented.

Before submitting your design, here are some things to think about:
- Is the background, mane type, gender (There is a male piece. Remember to color this if your tokota is male, I often forget. Remember, obviously, to remove it if your tokota is a female) and hierarchy posture correct?
- Does the design meet your fancy? It's irritating, unhelpful, and can be problematic to the admin checking your design if you feel the urge to constantly look back and edit things. So make sure the final draft is your best one.

-

POSSIBLE REASONS FOR DESIGN REJECTION:
- Incorrect background, mane type, and/or hierarchy status
- Incorrect gene display (does not match genotype.)
- Incorrect information/lineage.
- Insufficient proof of ownership/existence.
- Incorrect design based on guides.
- Unrealistic colors or patterns.
- Non-merged file (PSD or SAI file)
- Lineart traced in MS paint, uploaded as a screenshot, or as a photo taken of the screen. The template must be uniform.
- Too closely resembles an existing design.
- Credit text was removed.
- Flipped image.
- Extra text was added to image, aside from the allowed text.
- "Breeder" logo is too large or obstructive.
- Odd color patches, erased lineart, random mistakes/glitches in the image.

PLEASE CONSIDER:
Design approval can be frustrating for everyone -- but our admins will always try to be as patient, polite, and understanding as possible!
Feel free to ask questions about corrections, design points...etc - but be respectful. Arguing with an admin over your design only hampers the process and increases the time it takes to have it uploaded. That does not mean that admins never make mistakes in the correction process, but if you think a request is unfair or incorrect, address it politely.
Come into the process expecting that you will be asked to change any parts of the design that may be incorrect.

IN ADDITION, YOU MAY:
- Add a very small, inoffensive/unobstructive logo of your tribe/breeding operation or pack in the corner of the template.
- Add a "design (c) ___" to the image texts.
